Gordon's Dragon Shelter
I am a student at Humboldt State University and in my free time I sculpt tiny lucky oceanic dragons for sale in my Etsy shop. If you like what you see, check out my stuff at http://www.rubbersoullennon.etsy.com/
Another comparatively productive day. I painted the two commissioned dragons I sculpted yesterday and they’re ready to be sold! I’ve been thinking that I need to set myself a daily schedule to keep me on track with my dragon making/commission doing. I’ll let you know how that goes.
So for my next dragon I’ve been toying with idea of a steampunk or robotic type look. I bought some metallic paint today and I thought it would be really fun to do a dragon submarine. I have the sketches and plans laid out but we’ll have to see if any of them would actually come out well when sculpted.
I am the Dragon Master
I set myself the goal of making three dragons today and I completed it! You must understand that this is very unusual for me. I am not a goal completer. I write a to do list every day and only ever cross off the really easy stuff like “put away dishes” or “rearrange coffee table decorations” that I only put on there to make me feel good about myself. But I really got stuff done today!
Also, my friend and I are on the warpath to make some money from Threadless.com. I have a bunch of paintings/sketches/designs for t-shirts and she has the Photoshop knowhow to turn them into submitable t-shirt designs. Wish us luck!
Much better than yesterday
I am on a goal setting roll today! Two hours ago I set myself the goal of making (not necessarily painting) three dragons today. I’m about to start on my third dragon! Granted, one of the dragons was half done already, but he counts anyway.
One of the dragons is super tiny too. Those are actually a lot harder than the normal sized ones. I’ve made one small one before and this little guy is a commission so I doubt I’ll make any more like them unless someone asks for one again. They drive me crazy.
Well here goes my third dragon of the day. Maybe I’ll make more once this one’s done!
Well today wasn’t quite as productive as I would have liked it to be (surprise, surprise) but I did get my big dragon painted to maybe a halfway done point and I tidied up the house!
I clean when I have something to procrastinate about.
This is a picture of my newly cleaned work station. It’s actually an old bedside table that I stuck a large sheet of lamination paper to the top of so I can work with my Sculpey and paint directly on it without damaging the table. It’s very tiny and I’m sure it looks very messy to you, but it’s my sweet little slice of arting heaven. You can see the partially finished Jaz hidden in there and my tiny Coke glass of paintbrushes and tools (and a thumbdrive?).
I know what you’re thinking: This is one chick who’s got a sweet setup.
:)
Photoshop is my love
I am downloading Photoshop as we speak. I used to have it on my computer but my hard drive got wiped when my computer was getting a checkup and I haven’t gotten around to reinstalling it yet. I’m so excited!
